I trained at The British School Of Osteopathy in London, Europe’s largest and oldest osteopathic school. After 4 years of study and clinical work I graduated with a Masters in osteopathy in June 2011 and was awarded the Naidoo prize for osteopathic technique.
During my training I recorded over 1000 clinical hours in both general clinic and various specialist clinics including:
- Expectant mothers’ clinic
- Babies & Children’s clinic
- The Darwin Court residential home for the elderly
- The East Street GP clinic (NHS)
- The Chapman HIV/AIDS clinic
- The Manna Homeless clinic
I also spent the final two years volunteering in our community clinic at The Beormund School, where we provided osteopathic treatment (physical and developmental skills) for children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD).
My final years of study also included specialist training in the following fields:
- Advanced spinal manipulation
- Pregnancy care
- Visceral osteopathy
I have since attended post graduate training in the following areas:
- Paediatric Osteopathy: Assessment and treatment of children (newborns – teenagers)
- Ergonomic Work place Assessment – individual and corporate assessment
- Western Medical Acupuncture/Dry Needling
In 2008 I qualified as a Sport Injuries & Massage Therapist and have since treated many athletes and ran a clinic for employees in a busy London NHS centre.
As a keen sportsman (triathlon, running and rugby) I have developed a strong interest in the field of sports medicine, injury rehabilitation and performance enhancement. I am also a crew member on the Port St Mary Lifeboat.
I returned to the Isle of Man in 2011 where I now practice in Port St Mary.
As required by UK law, I am fully insured and registered with both the General Osteopathic Council and the British Osteopathic Association.
